I had earlier taken some photographs using a cheap CPL filter. Recently, I decided to upgrade this filter to a Hoya CPL filter as I was told that the difference in quality is noticeable.
I also got it as I intend to take some landscape photography where these CPL filters will increase the contrast and also the colour saturation. Anyway, I did a quick test at the Koi pond again.
Taken without the filter
Taken with the Hoya CPL filter
The different between with and without the filter is very evident and what’s interesting is that the Hoya CPL filter compared to the cheaper filter is also quite significant. The lost in brightness with the Hoya CPL is not as evident as that for the cheaper alternative.
Will be using this filter for my landscape photography next.

Dear Author www.iantan.net !
Bravo, what necessary phrase..., a remarkable idea
I want to quote your post in my blog. It can?
And you et an account on Twitter?
im wondering r u using a PRO 1 cpl filter or just cpl Hoya filter? n what's the different between both of them?
Not PRO 1, just the lower end Hoya CPL. Sorry, I am not sure what's the difference between the two.
What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
how much for the Hoya CPL? i also using a cheap PL filter, and addicted on it. Think to buy Hoya CPL too....
I got it as a gift, so I am not sure how much it would be in the market.
